Jargon explained
Code for sustainable homes:
Our homes must meet environment criteria set by the government., which uses this code to measure how our homes perform. Homes funded by the Homes and Communities Agency will be at least code level 3, which will cut carbon emissions by 25% over current standards. You can find out more information here.
Homes & Communities Agency:
This government agency provides funding for affordable housing; their role is to create an opportunity for people to live in high quality, sustainable places. You can find out more information here.
Section 106:
To get planning permission a developer usually has to make a financial contribution to the council for things such as education, transportation, open space and affordable housing.
