Melksham Garage Cluster

We have redeveloped disused garage sites in various locations; these areas attracted vandalism and other forms  of anti-social behaviour. The new properties provided 16 much needed new homes and tidied up these areas immensely.

Halsall Construction Ltd was the approved contractor.

This was jointly funded with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Curtis Orchard, Broughton Gifford

This was a development for nine homes for affordable rent, including family houses and two apartments and was completed in May 2009. These homes were built and let to people with a local connection to the village.

We worked closely with the Parish Council to promote the scheme in the village, and on completion received a letter from them saying "The Parish Council were absolutely thrilled with the nine housing units provided by Selwood Housing, which were recently handed over to the lucky first tenants".

This followed on from our successful Chestnut Corner development in the village of Bratton in 2007.

All homes at Broughton Gifford were built to CSH3 and include lifetime home principles.

We jointly funded the development with the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA).

New housing development

Rear of Waverley House, Melksham

The development of seven family-sized homes for affordable rent, next to our first Waverley House scheme at Lewington Close, was completed in March 2009.

These homes were our first that were built to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and also incorporated lifetime home principles. They are some of our greenest homes in Melksham, complete with solar panels to help heat the water and energy efficient light bulbs, which will help tenants save money on their untility bills. The homes also have increased insulation, rainwater butts, compost bins and cycle storage.

We jointly funded the development with the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA).
