Procurement

All of our tenders are now being published on our procurement portal.

What is procurement?

Procurement is the process we follow to appoint contractors and suppliers to carry out work on our homes and to ensure we can function successfully as a business.

Whilst the cost of goods and services is important to us all, so is the added value that contractors and suppliers can bring, such as:

  • the standard of workmanship
  • how they conduct themselves
  • their relationship with our tenants
  • social inclusion – the creation of local jobs and training opportunities.

Regulation

As a Registered Social Landlord, Selwood Housing must comply with public procurement regulations and laws. One of the key requirements of public procurement regulations is the need to be open and transparent with organisation purchasing activities.

This means that Selwood Housing are obliged to advertise tender opportunities across UK markets once the financial values of opportunities exceed certain thresholds. UK public procurement opportunities that meet the financial threshold values need to be advertised on the UK e-notification service called find a tender service (FTS).

The current financial thresholds that trigger the requirement to advertise on the 'find a tender' service are listed below:

  • £213,477 (including VAT) for goods and services
  • £5,336,937 (including VAT) for works contracts

Tender opportunities

If you're an organisation or service provider that is looking to work with Selwood Housing you can find out what we're currently procuring for by searching for 'Selwood Housing' on the UK Government's 'find a tender' website.

The criteria and details of the procurement process are explained in full in the documents you will find there.
