History of the site
This site in Studley Green, Trowbridge had previously been home to The John Bull pub, which was built in 1950.
This former pub site has remained vacant for a number of years and Selwood Housing are delighted to have been given the opportunity to invest in the site and help to regenerate the local area.
Selwood Housing bought the site in March 2021 and works began in summer 2022.
The site will be developed into a mix of affordable homes, 6 available for rent and 3 for shared ownership, which offers a more affordable way of getting onto the property ladder. The homes will be built on the site with high-quality design and energy efficiency being at the core of the build.
The homes anticipated to complete in spring 2023.
Selwood Housing is a not-for-profit housing association with almost 7,000 homes for rent at affordable prices in Wiltshire, Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset. We also offer shared ownership, and other schemes to provide a wide variety of homes for people living in our communities. Any surpluses we make are invested back into our communities and this includes building more affordable homes locally.
Shared ownership is a great way of buying your own home, without having to find a huge deposit up front. With shared ownership you can buy a share of a home and pay a low rent on the rest. This gives you a great alternative to renting, if you can't afford to buy a home outright.
