Hello, I'm Kate Tivney, chair of the Selwood Housing Group tenants' scrutiny team.
We are an independent-minded group of tenants who review services that are important to customers and make recommendations on what we find. Selwood Housing Group then produces an action plan which is monitored by us to make sure that what we recommend is being implemented.
We are looking for people of all ages who are enthusiastic, have a positive outlook and are great team players and it goes without saying that you'll be committed to improving services for others. Most importantly you bring a customer perspective to the reviews.
It's a voluntary role and you'll be supported with training and the camaraderie of a great team. You'll receive £30 per month in shopping vouchers and reasonable expenses so that you are not out of pocket and £10 towards broadband costs.
What sort of commitment is it?
The team meets monthly. Before the coronavirus outbreak we met face-to-face but at the moment we are meeting 'virtually'. We also carry out some research online, so you need to have internet access.
Alternatively, if your time is short but you have an interest in a particular topic, you might want to join us at the beginning of the review to help agree what the project might cover.
This is an interesting and exciting voluntary role that makes a real difference.
I hope you get in touch.
