Hello, my name is Laura Henderson and I am the current chair of the scrutiny team, having joined in 2020.
The scrutiny team are the independent tenant voice for Selwood Housing Group. We review services that are important to tenants and make recommendations based on what we find.
Working together with the Selwood Housing teams who deliver services, we develop agreed actions plans and monitor their implementation.
We are currently looking for new members of all ages who are enthusiastic, have a positive outlook and are great team players.
If you are interested in applying, it goes without saying that you'll be committed to improving services for others and most importantly you’ll bring a tenant perspective to the reviews.
It's a voluntary role and you'll be supported with training and the camaraderie of a great team. You'll receive £30 per month in shopping vouchers, reasonable expenses so that you are not out of pocket and £10 towards internet costs.
What sort of commitment is it?
We meet monthly and more often during a review. Meetings will be a mixture of virtual and in person, when this is possible.
We carry out many tasks such as interviewing staff and tenants, report writing, conducting surveys and research online. You will need to have internet access to be able to join the team.
This is an interesting and exciting voluntary role that makes a real difference to the tenants of Selwood Housing.
We'd love to hear from you.
