Meet the members of Selwood Housing Group's scrutiny team

Scrutiny team chair, Laura Henderson

Growing up around Devon and Somerset, I have now been a tenant for Selwood Housing in Frome for just over 12 months. I have worked in various jobs from guiding people around Longleat House to sending people down zip wires and I also volunteer as a Brownie and Guide leader.

Between that and crafting I always have something on the go and it helps keep me smiling! I am looking forward to volunteering at Selwood Housing and seeing how I can best contribute through my role on the scrutiny team.

Scrutiny team vice-chair, Ian Brereton

A retired journalist, travel writer, hot air balloonist and adventurer, with four daughters spread over the globe and seven grandchildren (at the last count!) With all of this I'm kept young at heart and active.

I'm hoping that as a member of the scrutiny team, I can give something back to society.

Scrutiny team member, Carol Hornby

I was born in Chippenham but moved to Trowbridge when I was about 17.

I have experienced a variety of jobs but have spent more years than I care to remember, in the care industry. At present, I work with young people (16-25) but have worked with the older generation who have wonderful stories to tell. When I had young children I volunteered for Meals on Wheels, which was great fun and encouraged me to work with older people when the children started school.

In my current role, I have completed many training courses and the skills I have learnt, in working with a variety of people, are easily transferable to many situations.

I look forward to being part of the scrutiny team and helping to make a difference for all tenants.

Scrutiny team member, Norman Tapp

A bit about me, I'm a 63 years young father of two and have one grandchild who I adore. I've been a tenant for 18 months, and live in Bowerhill, Melksham.

I'm a keen photographer and enjoy most forms of music. I have also been involved in volunteer work for The National Trust, in records and archives, and visit their properties when time permits. Being part of the scrutiny team gives me the opportunity to put to use many of the skills I have built up over the years. It's also a way of giving something back to Selwood Housing and their tenants.

Scrutiny team member, Niki Trueman

Originally from Preston in Lancashire, I moved to Trowbridge in 2002 and now live within sheltered accommodation in Westbury. I am a football fan and like to support my local team, Westbury United, as well as look after my two very crazy yet lovable dachshunds that keep me on my toes.

I have been involved with Seymour T.A.R.A in the past, which was an eye opening experience. Joining the scrutiny team is a way of getting involved in a team which will enable me to give something back to society.
