Eye for Style fashion event brings community together

The HUB@BA15 recently hosted the ‘Eye for Style’ fashion event, made possible by funding from the Selwood Housing Stronger communities fund. The grant supported essential costs to ensure the event ran smoothly and inclusively.

The fully sustainable fashion show took place at Bradford Town football club on 5 December 2025 and welcomed the Bradford-on-Avon community and beyond, with catwalk models ranging in age from 26 to 84. Local football club players, town council members, and the Hub@BA15 team all took part, making it a true community celebration.

John Hutchinson, Treasurer:

“The event created a real buzz, sparking conversations about future activities such as regular pop-up shops and a summer show with live music. Participants and visitors alike enjoyed a sense of wellbeing, fun, and excitement, with many expressing how inspiring the event was.

The straightforward funding application process and prompt support from Selwood Housing was very much appreciated. Thank you for supporting our event.”

The ‘Eye for Style’ fashion event stands as a shining example of how community-driven projects, supported by local funding, can bring people together and inspire new ideas for the future. This initiative provided access to sustainable clothing, helping to enhance appearance, improve mental health, promote overall wellbeing, while fostering community spirit through volunteering opportunities and event support.

Charlotte Hawley, Event organiser:

“Participants benefited from gaining valuable fashion skills and style knowledge, whilst enabling them to contribute meaningfully to a local project. The show was fabulous, with a key focus on sustainable fashion and styles. Thank you again to Selwood Housing for supporting the ‘Eye for Style’ event. We raised a fabulous amount which will make such a difference to the hub”.
