Selwood Housing board tours developments across Wiltshire

Selwood Housing board members stood in front of development site in Trowbridge

On Wednesday 14 May 2025, members of Selwood Housing’s board of directors visited current housing developments and existing homes across Wiltshire. This offered an opportunity for the board to see first-hand the progress being made and the impact these homes will have on the local community.

The tour included visits to two development sites, as well as a visit to two sites in Trowbridge to showcase investment in existing homes – one focused on decarbonisation works and another on balcony refurbishment works.

Site visits included:

  • White Horse Valley, Bratton – A development of 12 new homes being delivered in partnership with Ashford Homes. Board members met with the construction director and site manager and learned about how sustainable technologies, such as air source heat pumps and underfloor heating, are being used to achieve EPC B rating.
  • Buckley Gardens, near Melksham – A development of 26 homes being delivered in partnership with David Wilson Homes. Board members met with the developer’s representatives and toured the nearly completed homes.
  • Homestead and Ashmead Court, Trowbridge – The tour concluded with a visit to the Homestead, a sheltered housing scheme currently undergoing upgrades through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund. Followed by a visit to Ashmead Court to view progress on refurbishment works to existing balconies.

The site visits offered board members a valuable opportunity to see the benefit of investing in existing homes, while also observing first-hand the quality and ambition of Selwood Housing’s development projects. By staying connected to current housing development projects, the board continue to play a key role in guiding Selwood Housing’s ambition to build 1,700 more affordable homes by 2034.
