Update on heat alarms during the current hot weather

Due to the very hot weather that we’re all experiencing this week, our teams responded yesterday to several properties where fire panels located in the roof spaces were activated (because of extreme heat).  This caused the building’s heat alarms to sound. We appreciate this has been very disruptive for customers living in these properties and nearby, and the fire service. We apologise for the disturbance this has caused.

We are doing everything we can to resolve this issue as quickly as possible while the hot weather continues. We are carrying out works at properties where alarms have activated, as well as at those where they have not, as temperatures may continue to rise during the current heatwave. As these alarms are designed to operate when excessive heat is detected, taking action now should help to minimise further disruption while ensuring the building’s fire protection remains effective and is not compromised.
