As part of this year’s Priority Neighbourhoods Project, we launched the ‘Love Your Garden’ competition in partnership with Trowbridge Garden Centre. The competition launched in the spring, encouraging customers across Trowbridge to take pride in their green spaces, enjoy the outdoors, and showcase their gardening creativity.
Through our Priority Neighbourhoods Project, we work with local communities to improve neighbourhoods in need of support. In 2025-26, the Priority Neighbourhoods programme is targeting seven areas in Trowbridge, with ongoing community events and activities aimed at creating lasting, positive change.
Over the summer, we invited customers across the seven Trowbridge neighbourhoods to share their garden transformations, whether big or small. We were thrilled to receive some amazing entries from customers who used their gardening skills to completely transform front gardens, backyards, shared spaces, and patios.
Each gardener submitted before-and-after photos, along with a short story about their project. The judging panel, made up of Selwood Housing colleagues and representatives from Trowbridge Garden Centre, were impressed by the hard work, creativity and passion shown by every entrant. Entries ranged from vibrant planters and revamped patios to tranquil gardens full of wildlife-friendly plants.
The quality of the garden transformation entries was so strong that seven winners were selected to receive a prize. Each winner was awarded a £100 voucher to spend at Trowbridge Garden Centre to continue growing and improving their outdoor spaces.
We’d like to say a huge well done to all our customers who took part in our ‘Love Your Garden’ Competition – thank you for helping make our neighbourhoods greener, brighter and more welcoming places to live. We hope to bring the gardening competition back for next year’s Priority Neighbourhood’s Project, so stay tuned for updates.
