About this year’s priority neighbourhoods project
The 2025-26 priority neighbourhoods programme is focussing on seven areas in Trowbridge, including Charlotte Square, Ashmead, College, Seymour, Longfield, Paxcroft Mead and Hilperton.
Together with customers and local partners, we’re hosting a range of community days, events and activities aimed at bringing people together and making meaningful, long-term improvements to the area.
What’s been done so far?
Regular estate walkabouts
Regular estate walkabouts took place across all of our priority neighbourhoods. The aim of these visits was to increase visibility of within communities and help identify any issues, concerns about communal areas and any antisocial behaviour at an early stage. These walkabouts have allowed us to take action where needed.
Working alongside local partners
Throughout the year, members of our neighbourhoods team have met with local organisations, stakeholders and community leaders to build strong partnerships. These relationships have helped us to identify opportunities to work together and provide better local support and signposting for customers.
Improving communal living in East Trowbridge
After reports of noise disruption, we implemented a door closure improvement project to reduce communal doors slamming shut. This simple but effective change helped reduce noise nuisance, improving day to day living conditions for customers.
Supporting families and children in our communities
We have worked alongside local charity Spurgeons to trial activities for children and families, making positive use of communal spaces and helping to bring communities together. We have also progressed plans for a compliant toy storage solution at Charlotte Square, ensuring proposals met fire safety requirements.
College road planter project
We refurbished a planter in College road and thanks to a lot of hard work by staff, we have given it a new lease of life, improving the area.
‘Love Your Garden’ competition
Launched in the spring of 2025 in partnership with Trowbridge Garden Centre, the competition encouraged customers in the seven Trowbridge neighbourhoods to take pride in their green spaces, enjoy the outdoors, and showcase their gardening creativity. Customers submitted before and after photos of their garden transformations, along with a short story about their project. Seven winners were selected to win a £100 voucher to spend at Trowbridge Garden Centre with winners announced in October 2025. Thank you to all customers who took part for helping to make our neighbourhoods greener and brighter places to live.

Preventing antisocial behaviour
Following requests from customers living in the area, we updated signage and installed a new fence in Ashmead Court to prevent antisocial behaviour.
Fun Day at Charlotte Square
In August, we held a fun day for families living in Charlotte Square. As well as being a fun family day out with games and bouncy castles, the event was an opportunity to meet with residents to find out more about what they think of their neighbourhood and what they would like to improve.
