Our locations

With the introduction of flexible working, and to support our value of 'one team' staff can and do work from both of our office locations, where this supports their job role. They may also spend time working remotely or from home.

Selwood Housing Group, Trowbridge

Our head office is based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. This office acts as the main hub for Selwood Housing, as well as for our central support services who work across the Group.

The office is just a two minute walk from Trowbridge train station and bus routes, making it an easy commute from Bath, Bristol and other locations.

Some job roles, where travel to our communities is key, come with access to on-site parking. Other roles make use of local on-street parking, or some staff cycle in.

The office is in Trowbridge town centre, with many facilities, including cafés, gyms, a shopping centre and active high street.

Silcoa, Melksham

Our repairs and maintenance service is based in Melksham, on the Bowerhill industrial estate.

Silcoa moved into these new offices in 2019 which provide an open-plan office environment, meeting rooms, staff kitchen and warehouse.

Staff make use of local on-street parking.

Flexible working

Flexible working isn’t just an occasional benefit here, it’s a way of working.

Staff can build flexibility into their working week, to encourage a good work-life balance. We just encourage good communication within teams to ensure work is still delivered and customers still receive a great service.

The technology we use supports us to be able to work from most locations, with a good internet connection!

Living the values awards

So it’s important to have some balance – whether it’s supporting our Selwood Spirit charity of the year through cake bakes and other events, helping out the local community through our own ‘DIY SOS’ initiative, or just having some fun through our Christmas decs challenge – we’re a fairly lively, creative, socially-minded (and quite competitive!) bunch.

Through the coronavirus lockdown period we introduced our social ‘LockedIn’ Teams channel where staff have been sharing their interests, hobbies and pics of what they’re up to.

We also come together once a year as a whole group, for our staff event, which includes our annual shine draw and living the values awards, as voted for by staff.
