Which of the following alterations are you interested in making...

Usually permitted

We will usually allow these alterations but there may be some cases when it's not allowed or there are limits on what you can do. You therefore need to contact us to let us know what you're proposing and check that it's okay.

Electrical Installation Certificate required on completion

An Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) must be issued when work is done to wiring in your home. This is the law. You will need to ask a qualified electrician to carry out the work. They will provide you with an EIC when the job is complete and you will need to send us a copy of the certificate.

Allowed in new tenancy?

No, not allowed. There are some alterations that we don't allow at the start of your tenancy. Once you have completed your starter tenancy you will be able to apply for permission for the alteration.

Allowed in new build?

The property must be older than 5 years.

Please note

We won't permit a new kitchen if we have renewed your kitchen in the last 5 years.

There are some alterations that we can't allow during this period because it would invalidate this arrangement and the builder would no longer be responsible for any repairs. After 12 months you will be able to apply for permission for the alteration.
